Some obscure, plain and little, quite random facts about me before we get to the main point: My name is Sam, I am from Germany, my lucky number is 23, i love London, the musical Mamma Mia, the English language, the novel “Jane Eyre”, the audio-book “Framed”, coffee and British crime shows, the day I was born, a song by Abba was on top of the charts and I count steps when I climb stairs (now that is a bit too random. Sorry.).
Writing and photography are my two great passions. Ever since I learned to write i did just that. Write. On whatever i could grab – paper, wrappings, old envelopes etc. There are dozens of paper-napkins filled with stories about unicorns and dragons and magic forests floating around somewhere in my past. Since I already spend way too much time on the computer during my quite demanding day-job I have focused on photography instead of writing for a while now. Which really works well, because now I can tell stories and visit magical places without being indoors all the time 
. In my attempts to capture magical moments I am assisted by the following equipment: my shiny new Pentax K7 and four lenses (10-20mm, 18-55mm, 70-300mm and a 70mm macro).
“Still Another Mile” – the name of this site is not only an anagram of my name (note: pure coincidence), but also a quote from one of my favorite songs I have a dream by Abba (yes, Abba again, sorry). Here you will find some of my short-stories, poems and some old fan-fiction I didn’t have the heart to delete. You will also find my photography here and I hope to add to each image a little bit of information on how I took it and what I did with it in post-processing. But beware, I am really just a beginner and just because something accidentally worked for me, doesn’t mean it’s generally the way to do it.

Just another random note to finish this page, for those who were maybe wondering: The song I was refering to earlier is „Knowing me, knowing you“. And the reason I know this little piece of pop-trivia is that „Knowing me, knowing you“ became my favorite song after I’d seen the musical „Mamma Mia“. I’ve been going through a pretty rough time when I went to see it in London and to my astonishment it managed to lift me out of the darkness. In the show „Knowing me, knowing you“ is sung by a character named Sam (note: though this one was male, he is a lot like me in many ways*) and every time I saw the show, it moved me to tears. Still does.
